3 Ways To Have House Plans Drawn Up

House plans can be started in a variety of different ways.

Per previous posts you can design it yourself, or you can have an architect draw it up at a cost. There are also alternatives whereas some people purchase designs online, but there are limitations to doing that as well.

No matter how the design is started, it will almost always need to be developed, engineered, analyzed for code compliance, and submitted to the building department for permit before construction.

Some minor renovations may not need a permit, but unless specifically exempt by building code, than it will require the permit.
